Black History Month (October 2025)

Throughout October, Riverview will shine a light on Black history, culture, and achievement. From spotlighting inspirational figures in assemblies to selecting Black composers, authors, and artists for our regular features, this month is woven into every part of school life – celebrating diversity and representation across the curriculum.

Anti-Bullying Week (w/c Monday 11th November 2025)

A week dedicated to kindness, respect, and inclusion. Through stories, class discussions, and child-led activities, children will explore what bullying is, how to speak up, and how to be an ‘upstander’. Expect odd socks, poster-making, and lots of learning about empathy and friendship.

Christmas (December 2025)

A magical time at Riverview filled with joy and creativity! In addition to our traditional festive performances and celebrations, we welcome parents/carers to join in Christmas craft sessions with their children – sharing special moments and making keepsakes to treasure.

Children's Mental Health Week (w/c Monday 9th February 2026)

This important week is all about helping children understand and express their feelings. Through stories, creative tasks, and mindfulness activities, children will explore what mental health means and how to look after their wellbeing. The theme will be woven into lessons, play, and assemblies – helping every child feel seen, heard, and supported.

Careers Week (w/c Monday 9th March 2026)

Even the youngest learners can dream big! Careers Week introduces children to a world of possibilities, with visits from professionals, role-play activities, and class discussions about the skills and values behind different jobs. Children will be inspired to explore what they love and imagine their future.

Easter (w/c Monday 30th March 2026)

Springtime brings a fresh burst of creativity, reflection, and fun. Families will be invited into school for Easter-themed art and craft sessions, while children enjoy Easter storytelling, and activities that celebrate hope, growth, and new beginnings.

The Golden Thread Alliance's Themed Week: World Cup 2026 (w/c Monday 15th June 2026)

It’s game time! This week celebrates global unity through sport as part of the Golden Thread Alliance’s World Cup theme. Children will explore different countries, cultures, and traditions through art, music, geography, and PE -building teamwork, respect, and curiosity about the world.
