World of Work – Careers Programme

At The Riverview Academy, we believe it’s never too early to start inspiring ambitions. Our World of Work week, which will be held in the spring term, opens up a world of possibilities for our children, helping them explore the many exciting paths their futures could take.

Throughout the week, children will hopefully:

  • Meet professionals from a wide range of industries and backgrounds

  • Take part in hands-on workshops and challenges

  • Learn about the skills, qualifications, and values that different jobs require

  • Discover how their learning in school connects to the real world

From beauticians to chefs, engineers to artists, our visitors bring their experiences to life, showing children that no dream is too big and no goal is out of reach. By broadening horizons and sparking curiosity, we aim to equip every child with the confidence and aspiration to shape their own future.

We are looking for...

'Careers Champion' Volunteers

We are excited to begin planning future opportunities for our children to explore the world of work – and we’d love your help!

At Riverview, we want our children to dream big, feel inspired, and begin to understand the many different paths their futures might take. Whether you have an interesting job, a unique career journey, or just a passion for your profession, we would be delighted to hear from you.

We’re looking for parents/carers and wider members of our school community who would be willing to either:

  • Get involved in our Careers Week (coming in 2026), or…

  • Host a small workshop or Q&A with a group of children, or…

  • Speak in an assembly about their career or role

You don’t need to be a polished public speaker – just someone who’s happy to share their story in a way that gets children thinking about what they might like to do one day.

If you’re interested or want to find out more, please get in touch – we’d love to hear from you!
